Tauranga is a port city located in the western Bay of Plenty region of the North Island of New Zealand, approximately 205 km (127 mi) south-east of Auckland. Nationwide, Tauranga is currently New Zealand's fifth largest urban area. The City of Tauranga was constituted in 1963. The name Tauranga comes from Māori, it roughly translates to "a sheltered anchorage". Since beginning of April 2009, this is my new living place, and these are the first photos from where I live.
